The Best Reactions to Apple's New iPhone 7

Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone - but some customers are skeptical.

The iPhone 7, while similar to the iPhone 6S in appearance, contains some significant changes, including extra speakers and the removal of the headphone jack.

Apple confirmed long-running rumours about the headphone jack at its press conference in California.

Sound appeared to be at the centre of the new model, which will have speakers at both the top and bottom of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

However, if you want to listen to your music privately, you'll have to use the EarPods which use a lightning connector to plug into your iPhone charging port, or the newly announced AirPods - or wireless earphones.

AirPods must be purchased separately to your iPhone and will set you back $229. They come with a charging case and connect to your phone wirelessly. Changing the volume or switching songs can be done via Siri.

Meanwhile, fans and critics ran to Twitter to express their thoughts on the new products.

While many were excited about the allegedly new-and-improved phone, some were rightly skeptical about the new wireless headphones.

Other changes to the iPhone include a touch sensitive Home button and the 7 Plus will come with two cameras.

It comes in five colours, with two new black styles -  a matte and a glossy.

The iPhone 7 will be water and dust resistant. (Not to be confused with waterproof, guys!)

To combat those irritating storage issues, the iPhone 7 will not be released with 16GB of storage, but rather starting from 32GB.

While Apple is claiming the phone will have a superior battery life to past models - only time and downloading a bunch of apps will tell!

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be released in Australia on September 16, with a starting price of $1,079.

Apple also unveiled a brand new Apple Watch, which the company is calling "the ultimate device for a healthy life."

“It is faster, it is brighter,” Apple's Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams said of the device.

“We think that Apple Watch is the ultimate device for a healthy life. We think it will be especially popular with runners.”

The Apple Watch Series 2 is water resistant to 50m. The watch also extends its workout apps to track your efforts while pool and open water swimming.

It will be released at the same time as the iPhone 7 and is set to cost $529.
