Holly Brisley’s Fitness Diary

Mum, actress and face of the new Shake Weight, Holly Brisley, talks about how she stays in shape.

What is your weekly exercise regime like? “At the moment my regime is quite intense because I'm about to climb Mt Kilimanjaro for a charity trek for The Humpty Dumpty Foundation. I'll be raising $50,000 myself and over $1,000,000 dollars collectively. I have barely walked up Bondi Rd in the past so it's going to be a challenge. Circuit training is part of my regime so Shake Weight has become really useful for that. I've been using it in my Pilates classes and it tones your arms like nothing else I've ever used!”

How do you stay motivated to train and exercise? “I've found it really hard to get back into training after having a baby because I’m always so sleep deprived! Training at home has really helped, though.”

What’s in your gym bag? “A towel, water bottle, headphones and iPod, some change and not much else! “

Favourite workout song? “Anything from the Black Eyed Peas normally gets me going as they always have a good beat.”

What is a normal day’s eating plan like for you? “At the moment I'm eating either gluten-free muesli or toast with avocados and eggs for breakfast. I’ll have sushi, pasta or a wrap for lunch and steak or chicken with salad for dinner. Sometimes I have natural yoghurt, bananas and berries for dessert and I snack on tuna dip and crackers, fruit or cheese throughout the day.”

What is your biggest indulgence? “Chocolate, I love it! There's also some amazing gluten-free carrot cake at the organic store I go to which is to-die-for!”

How do you look after your skin? “I cleanse and moisturise everyday and I occasionally get a facial when I get time (which is not often!). At the moment I'm trying to drink more water.”

How do you look after your hair? “I recently completed a film which required me to change my hair so it is brown for the first time in my life. It's a long slow process back to blonde so I'm trying to nurture it with lots of treatments.”

Where do you love to shop? “At the moment I do a lot of my shopping online at places like frockshop.com.au as it means I can shop when my baby is sleeping, plus they have loads of different designers that I like. I also really love Little Joe.”

How do you relax and chill out? “I love hanging out with friends and my family, cooking and having baths.”

Where is the best place you have ever visited? “Venice because it's very romantic and I got engaged there.”

Shake Weight is $39.99 and available from www.shakeweight.com.au or any Rebel Sport and Amart All Sports store.
