A Sydney man has created a probiotic drink in the hope of reversing his type 2 diabetes symptoms... but does it actually work?
After receiving news of his type 2 diabetes diagnosis, John Leith took an incredibly pro-active approach to curing his disease.
He undertook a lot of research into the symptoms, and created the Hemp Oz Kombucha probiotic drink, an Australian-first product to help people with type 2 diabetes - and it's having some amazing results.
How does it work?
Initial clinical trials of the kombucha recruited participants with the disease, or those displaying pre-diabetic blood glucose levels all across the country. In an independent scientific study, researchers found:
- 75 per cent of participants reported improvement in their fasting blood sugar levels
- 1.5mmol/L fasting blood sugar levels improvement
- Around one in three (31 per cent) participants reported drastic results and completely resolved their diabetes symptoms
