What you need to know about your wellbeing, according to your star sign

Every star sign is associated with a medical condition and your sign’s sensitivities are something to acknowledge and pay extra attention to.

Astrologer Lisa Stardust tells us which the parts of the body are most closely associated with each sign and how to practise self-care to nurture the most vulnerable areas of our health.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Hot-blooded Aries rules the head, so it’s very common for them to get stress-induced headaches. Taking time to relax and decompress through meditation, quiet walks, or even just drinking a cup of tea should be part of their daily routine.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

The smooth-talking Bull rules the throat, which may cause irritations at time. Sore throats are common amongst Tauruses, as they tend to use their beautiful voices and strong will to express their thoughts and get things done. Take throat-soothing honey regularly and don’t forget to sing!

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

The airy twins, who notoriously never slow down, breathe a little more in exasperation than others, as they're often spreading information (and gossip). This makes the respiratory system and allergies their best-known ailment, and anti-inflammatory teas will help soothe their lungs.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Cancers love to try different foods. The issue is that they are sensitive and the various foods they try may not agree with them, causing them to have pronounced issues with their digestive tract. It’s best for the gentle crab to take everything in moderation!

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

The mighty lion rules the heart, making them very generous. However, the downside is the heart may be their greatest cause for concern. Checking in with a doctor regularly won’t hurt your pride, but give you a longer reign as ruler of the jungle.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Patient Virgos internalise many issues and they tend to feel stress in their stomach. They need to learn to assert themselves and purge negativity the moment they feel it brewing, to avoid stress-related digestive troubles.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

Beautiful Librans tend to have skin issues, which is a sore spot for them, as they take pride in their appearance with Venus as their ruler. Finding the right ways to balance out their sensitive skin issues can become a lifelong issue.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Ruled by the sex organs, hormones may cause Scorpios to simultaneously rage against and love others madly, causing dramatic displays of war and passionate affection. Seeing a specialist and maintaining a meditation practice will help them moderate their emotional ebbs and flows.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

The centaur rules the body's mobile but stabilising hips. This is where they hold onto the most stress and can cause hip injuries to occur. It’s important to get massages and stretch to keep the hips flexible.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Joint issues are a common problem for the hardworking sea-goat. They are known to be the athletes of the zodiac, but strong as they are, the wear and tear may cause them to have joint pain, which can be resolved by restorative stretching.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

Circulation problems are an issue for Aquarians, who are known to carry loads of weight, both literally and figuratively in their work as community activists. Yoga can help open energy pathways and get circulation flowing, easing tension and reducing inflammation.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

Empaths by nature, Pisces pick up the emotions and energy of those around them, allowing their nervous system to be in near-constant flux when they’re with people. Creating a calm environment and taking time out to be on their own should help soothe their nerves.
