Detox Plan Week 3

By now your energy is great and you are eating nutritious, healthy food. After seven days of pampering you are glowing with warm fuzzies and people are starting to ask you what you are doing!

This week is about your mental and emotional state. As your body becomes more alkaline, you begin to lose weight and eliminate toxins says naturopath Emma Sutherland, Some of these toxins can be negative thoughts or emotions. Now is the perfect time to dump any of these.

As these thought patterns come up, simply ask yourself “does this serve me in a positive way?” If the answer is no, then let it go!

Listen to your dreams as they will be giving you messages about what you need to let go of. Is there a recurring theme to them? Is someone in your life pushing your buttons? Are you consumed in a pattern of perfectionism, guilt or self sabotage? If it helps, write it all down and then have a ceremonial burning.

This is also the time to establish a regular exercise pattern. Exercise is vital to the success of detox as it helps you to shift and release toxins. Think about what it is that you love to do. Is it salsa dancing, a spin class or going for a morning walk? You need to find an activity that you enjoy as then you will have motivation to exercise. There is no point torturing yourself with something that you “should” do as it will soon become boring, you won’t do it and then the guilt begins!

• Recognise any negative emotions or thoughts that you have
• Assess how these affect you and ask if they are serving you in a positive way
• Dump them!
• Find an exercise that you enjoy and start doing it regularly
