Coconut Water: The New Super Drink

You know when Madonna and Demi Moore follow a health trend, it must be good! These fitness gurus only put the best in their bodies and that includes the latest fad taking over Hollywood (and supermarket shelves) – coconut water!

According to new research more than half of Australia (52%) is dehydrated during the week, with one in three (33%) feeling most dehydrated at work. And that’s where coconut water comes in. It has the ability to rehydrate the body three times as fast as a sports drink, among numerous other health benefits.

“Coconut water is the new wonder drink, particularly because of its phenomenal hydrating properties,” says nutritionist Zoe Bingley-Pullin. “If you’re simply relying on tea, coffee or soft drinks for your fluid intake then you’re not going to be sufficiently hydrated.

“Based on the statements made by major brands in the US and Brazil, drinking one bottle (350ml) of coconut water is the equivalent of drinking more than one litre of water with as much potassium as a banana, making it ideal after exercise or for people on the go. Obviously its important for people to continue to drink water, but if you’re looking for a natural, refreshing and hydrating beverage than coconut water is the ideal solution.”

The national drink in warm countries like Brazil and often described as “nature’s sports drink”, coconut water (not to be confused with coconut milk) is the clear liquid inside young coconuts, extracted at seven months before the coconut grows its meat.

nudie coconut water, $3.50, is 100% natural and contains no preservatives, additives or added sugar and comes in four flavours including nudie coconut water straight up, nudie coconut water with pomegranate & acai, nudie coconut water with lychee & lime and nudie coconut water with orange & passion fruit.

Can yo tell me the calorie content in one bottle as I really don't see the problem with just drinking without spending money on this product.
What health benefits does this have?

Hi there!

I have seen it at Thomas Dux stores. I bought one of every flavour & liked some more than others. My favourite was the Straight Up - which i absolutely loved.

I admit it was a little unusual tasting at first, but having heard how good they are for you & knowing they have nothing added makes it so much better.

Im a HUGE fan.
