If you are all about fun group fitness, Acquapole will be your new workout obsession.
It’s time to jump into a new fitness craze that will give you a fresh perspective on group water fitness.
Introducing Acquapole, the new underwater workout that has given aqua aerobics a much-needed makeover. In fact, it has completely redefined the meaning of water fitness.
Acquapole is a full-body water workout that includes more than 150 different exercises that are done with the help of an underwater pole.
But don’t dive in expecting to learn how to pole dance underwater, this workout offers much more.
What you can expect is a lively group fitness class, lots of laughs and a workout that will leave you feeling strong, refreshed and reenergised.
Master Acquapole trainer Donna Stocker says the workout, which originated in Italy, is as much about being happy, positive and having fun as it is about fitness.
“This program is unique and people migrate to activities that are fun,” she says.
“It’s a social environment, where people work together, encourage each other and have a great time. This class is something people aren’t used to seeing in water, so it generally provides a lot of laughs along the way.
“People leave here feeling energized after having those exercise endorphins released gives them a positive, happy feel.”
The best thing about a water workout? Your body is working harder than you think. You are constantly resisting against the water as you move so while you are splashing about on the surface, your butt, legs and abs are burning calories – bonus!
“With the buoyancy of water, you can get into positions that you can’t otherwise on land due to gravity,” Donna says.
“The water provides resistance in all directions, with the hydrostatic pressure alleviating the stress on joints and the spine meaning it is great for all fitness levels.”
Acquapole is a low-impact, core orientated workout that tones the whole body and promotes good posture.
If you are looking for more of a challenge, Acquapole Boxing and Acquapole Elastics are other options you can try.
Acquapole Boxing involves high intensity cardio – perfect for splashing out your frustrations – and leaves you feeling fitter and stronger. Meanwhile, Acquapole Elastics focuses on strength, flexibility and cardio. The elastics add extra resistance, upping the intensity of the workout.
The beauty of Acquapole is that it really is for everyone. From amateurs to athletes, men and women both from beginner to advanced.
So grab that friend who you think is fitter than you and jump into a refreshingly fun workout that will quickly replace your mundane Monday night gym session.
If you love exercising with friends, enjoy group fitness and love to have a laugh, this workout will quickly become a staple in your weekly fitness regime.
