A new Tinder-style app is helping parents choose baby names

Tinder may be better known for enabling the messy love lives of millennials, but a new app modelled on the popular dating service is helping solve a different kind of problem - choosing a baby name!

Expectant parents are going gaga for a new app helping them decide what to call their new bubs.

The app, appropriately called babyname, uses a Tinder-style program that asks parents to 'swipe' through names.

Similar to the dating app, when two people - in this case the parents - both 'swipe right' on a baby name indicating they like it, it will alert the other that they've found a name match with their partner.

You both use the app in your own time, on your own devices, so when that match comes along it might be a pleasant surprise!

In a land of infinite possibilities, babyname is certainly a great way to narrow the field.
