Verandah Makeover

Shannon clears the verandah by removing the round table and four chairs. Styling begins with the 'big stuff', and Shannon has chosen a rectangular table with bench seats made from a mix of wood and aluminum. It's the perfect size for family lunches and dinners, as well as complimenting the garden's colours and textures.

The 'fluffy bits' are next. Once again, Shannon takes her cues from the garden:

  • Cushions in browns and greens
  • Lanterns in blue, purple and yellow mounted against the brickwork
  • Hej tealight holders in clear glass
  • Floor display – aluminum buckets, blue pot with cactus and a silver Rotera lantern
  • Terracotta troughs – planted with Fetuca Glauca and painted
  • Hanging pots – planted with Zebrina Pendula

Things to consider:

  • Have a clear picture of all the activities and requirements of the space before you begin
  • The area being styled should compliment the surrounding areas
  • The shape of the space you're working with needs to be taken into consideration
