You don't want to put potential buyers off before they've even walked through the door.
The front of your house is the first thing you see every time you get home.
It's also the first impression for guests and potential buyers, so here are a few tips to make the front of your home more inviting.
Clear the clutter
Firstly, make sure people can find the place. Too much overgrowth will not only turn off buyers, but it makes it hard to find the front door. So my first tip is to cut back and tidy the front garden.
At this house, I even had to get rid of the carport, because it was such an overpowering structure. It obscured the entire front and side of the house.
Now it’s much more open and inviting.
Install a path
A path can also be a helpful and more obvious way to direct traffic to your front door.
With this house it wasn't really clear where to go when you came up the driveway so I installed a path of pebbles.
You can get these in bulk from a garden or landscape supply yard. Other budget-friendly options include recycled bricks, or a stepping stone path.
Paint your front door
If you really want to make a statement with your front entrance, paint the door in a bold colour. It’s a simple way to make your frontage really stand out from the crowd.
I painted this door in a bright colour called poinciana red and I selected this to show buyers exactly where the front door is.
