Charlie's Top 5 Garden Design Tips

Starting a new garden or landscaping an existing one is exciting but can be daunting.

Here are my top five tips for getting it right.

1. Have a plan

Like with all design projects, having a plan is vital. You can draw it by hand, but make sure you map it out to scale and everything will fit.

2. Planting

The right planting can make a garden look bigger and more inviting. Consider softening the edges around fences or separating decking or entertaining areas with plants. Again, having a plan will help you avoid buying more plants than necessary.

3. If gardening isn't your thing...

If you're time poor, or don't have enthusiasm for gardening - make sure you go for something low maintenance. It's easy to get carried away in the design process, but remember you're the one who will have to keep it looking good!

4. Splash out on pavers

If you use inferior products for paving or building walls, they won't last and you'll have to spend more money replacing them in the future.

5. Forget trends

Remember this is your garden and it's about what you want. You don't have to follow trends. Get creative and have fun!

I saw a program recently where Charlie used some kind of bracing under turf to allow a car to drive on it, could you please give me more information regarding this product.

One most important part you have missed, that is Lighting! Definitely you will not love your garden at day.
