Selling Houses Australia

Charlie Albone's private clients: Part 1

Have you ever wondered what I get up to when I’m not on Selling Houses Australia? I get to create gardens for private clients, who give me bigger budgets than Andrew, so I can push the creative limits.

I’m a huge fan of unique features in the garden. Do you remember Sydney’s monorail, which used to run through Darling Harbour and the city? When it was dismantled in 2013 all the parts were sold off, and one of the 22 carriages ended up in one of my gardens.

You can’t just plonk something that large down into a garden so this carriage has its own concrete foundation and was craned in because it weighs three and a half tonnes.

I’ve turned it into a cigar lounge with a difference; custom leather interior, a display case for cigars, cognac and scotch, recycled bricks, a map of the monorail, tessellated floor tiles, a full vinyl wrap, and even a fridge for keeping your drinks cold.

It certainly is a garden feature like no other.
