Shannon Lush explains that you don't need a lot of space or to break the bank to create a beautiful garden.
Plants can sometimes be free when councils make changes to municipal displays and public gardens. Keep an eye on council websites where they’re likely to make community announcements.
Another great little find was a $20 worm farm which we bought at The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre, Marrickville. Worm farms are usually three times this amount when sold through councils. They are wonderful at turning household scraps into a rich garden fertiliser.
Without room for a backyard shed, you can create a small veggie and herb garden by erecting a $40 hanging wall storage system known as a 36-inch Ultra Hold from Howard's Storage World.
