Hello, I adopted a cat a year ago and her unusual behaviour is actually affecting my health! I have always owned a cat and am a single 64 years young female. This cat wants to be out all night (and most of the day). I have tried keeping her in at night but she is PERSISTENT scratching on doors and meeowing till I give up to get some sleep. I have locked her in the garage with food/bed etc but the same thing happens and because I am in a unit I can hear her. The second problem is that from the time I got her she will ONLY drink from the tap in the vanity basin! Usually through the night sometimes more than once. Obviously I have to wait to turn the tap off. I adore all animals but wish I had not been rushed into adopting her. She will have a bite if you pat her the wrong way too! HELP! Kindest regards, Hilary
Hi there, I wanted to ask what my best course of action is for my two lab x kelpie puppies approx 7 1/2 months old. They (one more in particular) have a fear of other dogs and on walks are quite scary at times. Its becoming difficult. Also the same one is also the same towards people who are close, she will actually growl and lunge and act as if she would attack if we let her. Help. Kind regards Tahlia
Thank you for your answer about my frightened cat after my holiday. I will take him to the vet and hopefully clear up the problem. It's wonderful to have someone to ask a question and get such a comprehensive answer. Will let you know how we get on. Sandy.
Hi I desperately need some help. About 9 months ago a tree came down on our back verandah while our very large dog was under it, since then every time we have a thunder storm our dog tears through our door trying to get inside. We have had to replace our fly wire door 3 times in the last week. Last night we had a massive storm whilst we weren't home and found he had smashed the Perspex and the heavy duty wire and chewed through the wood on the door then vomited every where. We have no idea what to do to stop this behavior and desperately need urgent help
Hi you mention Xanax for you pet..Have you read this about Xanax Prescribing alprazolam from 1 February 2014 As for any other Schedule 8 drugs, a medical practitioner will need to apply for a NSW Ministry of Health authority to prescribe alprazolam to a drug dependent patient prior to prescribing. For further information see TG212 Requirements for an Authority to Prescribe Drugs of Addiction under Section 28 of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act available online at: If it is dangerous for me that been on it for 8 years and can not get it anymore,

For further information see TG212 Requirements for an Authority to Prescribe Drugs of Addiction under Section 28 of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act available online at: If I am not allowed to take it anymore why would I give it to my dog. It a Class a Dangerous Drug. There is little, if any, justification for prescribing benzodiazepines beyond a few days. Patients on long-term prescribed benzodiazepines are likely to be dependent, even where doses are stable and they are not at risk from consuming other psychoactive drugs. Patients with current or previous alcohol and drug problems are at increased risk of developing benzodiazepine dependence Brent
We have a 10 weeks old maltese shitzu poodle and we noticed that today she is dragging her bottom on the floor is there an easy cure or is it a diet problem?
We have moved into a rental property and have 3 cats and 1 dog in a very tiny backyard, We have only a small section of loose dirt in the back yard where they can go to the toilet and it already is starting to smell. We clean up every day but we would like to know if there is a product we can use for the smell. We saw a product on line but it is only available in America, we did buy some hydrated lime but do not know what effect this might have if any on the animals. Please help as we dearly love our pets and do not want to annoy the landlord. Kind regards
Hi, My cousin has a four year old long haired mini fox terrior. She has been itching and chewing a lot and we have been giving her a half a tablet of cetirizine per day and it doesn;t seem to be working. She is also on a flea tablet once a month.
