Texture: The Key to the Perfect Interior

When it comes to interiors, it’s not all about looks.  Textures play a key role, especially when it comes down to the foundation of a room.  To ensure you achieve the right balance, Shaynna Blaze shares her flooring tips.

Although tiles will always be cool underfoot, many Australian’s still love them.  So for those that favour tiles, add warmth to your space by selecting designs which have a natural stone finish, such as those in The Eclipse Collection.

The perfect alternative
Luxury vinyl flooring is increasing in popularity, as it is a cost effective alternative to timber and tiles.  Providing the look, texture and feeling of timber, luxury vinyl planks are also softer, quieter and warmer underfoot.   Ranges such as Genero Euro (click or stick installation) don’t just add visual warmth to a home; their technological innovations mean they are also easily mistaken for the real thing!

The key trend for carpet is short fibres, so for a practical and stylish solution go for a textured design, such as Brease Pampero.  Aside from Brease carpet being asthma and allergy friendly, the textured style of Brease Pampero also provides a neutral backdrop on which you can build on.

Create a big design statement
Rugs are a cost effective alternative to carpet that also enable you to easily add warmth and impact to your space.  One of the best things about rugs is that unlike other flooring, when you move you don’t have to say goodbye to your favourite floors, you just simply take them with you.   So for texture, style and impact, select designs such as Hive, Grampian and Alpine
