The idea of living in a bush retreat just 20 minutes from the city of Launceston sounds like the ideal home and for owners Mary and David, it is! So why are they moving?
Complete with breathtaking views and a cosy cottage, they have loved their idyllic life since moving to Tasmania 10 years ago with their 12-year-old-son, James.
But after years of enjoying the best of both worlds, David has been struggling to get permanent work. So, with a job offer on the table in the mainland – it’s time to put their house on the market.
But this isn't an easy sale. While there's plenty of room to move on the outside – the property stretches over 124 acres – the inside is compact and needs a lot more work than this couple realise.
After 12 months, they’ve been unsuccessful in hitting their asking price of $500,000 and it’s no wonder.
With a DIY kitchen installed by David - complete with a (very) heavy cast iron stove that has to go and a dated outdoor area that takes away from the breathtaking view, the Selling Houses team has a task ahead of them.
A tight budget and unpredictable market aren't helping, but Andrew has a bright idea for getting this sale over the line. All he has to do now is convince Charlie and Shaynna that his idea is genius. What could possibly go wrong?
