Restaurant Inspiration

While other people go to restaurants to eat, drink and relax, Shannon goes to restaurants to check out the décor! Restaurants and other public spaces are a great place to get inspiration for decorating your home. While they spend lots of money on expensive interior designers, you get ‘borrow’ their ideas free of charge, or for the price of a meal.

Being overseas can be even more inspiring as you often see things you wouldn’t normally see in Australia. For example noma in Copenhagen has an interior with great ideas. Little tiny wooden salt cellars with a lid for the centre of the table, sheep skin rugs slung over eth back of your chair to keep you extra cosy in winter. On the walls exposed brick, plaster and wood create fabulous texture, and the fact that they are centuries old helps a touch too.

In Barcelona the Casa Camper Hotel is no different. Others come to sleep but Shannon is too preoccupied! Ideas to take away with you is red paint on the walls - choose the right shade and it will go in any room. A cluster of table lights that all differ greatly in style create a wonderful eclectic look.
