Reno Recap: Queanbeyan, NSW

It's the home that left Andrew "speechless" before its renovation... but why isn't it selling in a healthy market?

Glasgow-born Frances bought her large four-bedroom Queanbeyan house on a whim five years ago. She rushed her purchase so much, she didn't realise there was no laundry, and the home was way too big and worn out around the edges.

After more than six months on the market, Frances' purple palace refused to sell. Could it be the many maintenance issues inside the house – or the neglected garden and pool area that is turning off buyers?

Either way, she needs help to achieve an asking price around $750,000. Despite the market downturn, the local market is very healthy... so what will the team do to help get the property sold?

The verdict

After going to auction, the final bidder made an offer of $720,000. After the auctioneer spoke to Frances, who dropped her reserve to $750,000. The couple agreed, resulting in her home being sold under auction conditions.
