Guy Sebastian and his wife, Jules reveal their newly renovated home that's been described as 'a museum'.
After five years of construction, Guy and Jules Sebastian have finally moved into their $3.1 million-dollar home. Located in the Sydney's eastern suburb of Maroubra, the Sebastian's called on the expertise of ex-House Rules judge and designer, Joe Snell to design their multi-million dollar family home, and the results are simply extraordinary.
"The house is all about privacy from the front but an enormous amount of natural light from the back," Guy says. "We made it clear from the start that we wanted loads of concrete and black steel - toughness in the architecture which is softened by the styling and landscaping."
Guy and Jules have been posting photos of their incredible family home, which looks like it belongs to the likes of John Legend or Alicia Keys in Los Angeles.
Let's start with Guy's open-plan music room which is the musician's "fav place in the home - where I sit and write most of my music." Behind the piano you may notice a large work of art, which is actually the spiral staircase Joe Snell designed.
When speaking to Bella Magazine, Guy revealed, “The foyer and stairs are works of art… And that stair was not cheap, but Joe said, ‘think Guggenheim’.”
Makes sense. Let's take a closer look.
The house is designed in a 'U shape' centred by an open-plan courtyard which flows onto a large backyard, featuring a very sleek pool.
"One of the best architectural features from @joesnelldesign of our house is how the living areas all open up and become one mega indoor/outdoor entertaining space," Guy says. "Now we just need to make some friends to invite over!!" We can think of an immediate few!
For Christmas day, the Sebastian's hosted their families to dine at their new digs at an incredibly luxe table setting, behind an art gallery-worthy backdrop.
The chic interiors follow into the bathrooms, where Jules and Guy's master bathroom is all-class.
"Starting with our master bathroom...yup...one sink for him, and one all for ME!," Jules wrote on her Instagram. "I love this terrazzo tile set off by the black joinery, sinks and brass hardware. Getting ready in the morning really has gone to the next level....I had to take a quick snap while it was this clean."
The bathroom backdrop also follows to the floor, and the bathtub which could belong in an art installation.
They even installed a pink-tiled steam room which Guy describes as "one of my favourite rooms."
Jules says she always wanted a pool growing up as a child, so for their dream house it was definitely on the list! "We retiled, added a pergola, a bbq area and the @millboard_decking. It’s neither wood nor plastic which makes for anti slipping and splinters! Perfect for the little feet cannon balling from the deck!
"Can’t wait for the good times to roll around this space." We will happily accept an invitation.
