How to Repair Peeling Laminate

As the adhesive wears away, laminate benchtops begin to peel at the corners. To give this ageing look a new edge, all you need to do is follow three easy steps.

You will need:
- Utility knife
- Contact adhesive
- Paddlepop stick
- Roller

1. Separate. Gently pull the peeling laminate away from the benchtop, using the utility knife to slice the remaining adhesive.
2. Glue. Using a Paddlepop stick to separate the two surfaces, clear any residual adhesive off the edging then apply contact adhesive to the back of the strip and the benchtop edge.
3. Join. Firmly press the surfaces together, working from the centre to the corner of the strip. Finish off by running a clean and dry roller firmly along the edge to remove any air bubbles.
