How To Make Easter Fiesta Bunting

Be inspired by Mexican tin art and have a go at making this fabulous Easter Bunting

Easter is just around the corner, but if you want to steer away from the stock standard bunnies, fluffy chicklets and coloured eggs, here is a simple craft that not only looks fabulous, but can be applied to all different kind of holidays.

Darice Aluminium Roll in Silver
Darice Craft Cord Metallic Silver
Dafa Design Knife Set (includes Stylus tip)
Carnival Arts & Crafts Felt Sheet

Step byStep Guide

1: Lay your aluminium sheet on top of the felt sheet, and draw out various shapes with the stylus, which will make up the Easter Fiesta Bunting.

2. Working from the inside, start with a motif, such as a decorated egg. For motif inspiration, look out for cute holiday cards, childrens books or scour the net.

3. Work to the outside by filling in the spaces with shapes. Shapes might be hearts, scalloped edges, basic birds, diamonds, lines, circles etc.

4. Once done cut out your pieces and using a thin paintbrush roll a tube in the top.

5. Thread your metallic thread through the loop and knot on each side to keep in place.

These are so beautiful you may not want to take them down after Easter!

These would also look fabulous framed, or have a go at creating the gorgeous wreath below.
