How to embrace hygge this winter

Hygge, the Danish joy of being cosy, has taken the interiors world by storm over the past few seasons.

Homewares designers have taken note, creating everything you need to create a Scandi-style winter getaway Down Under (think: fur rugs, cable-knit throws and cinnamon-scented candles). It's lush, tactile and perfect for sub-zero temperatures... which aren't all that commonplace for us here in Oz.

That's why we asked Sarah Andrews, the creator, owner and host of Captain’s Rest, a breathtakingly beautiful holiday house (yes, you can rent it!) on Tasmania’s west coast to help. Sarah's laidback style has made Captain's Rest a social media sensation. Here Sarah shares her top nine rules how to do channel those hygge vibes, antipodean style.
