On the hunt for a sensational splashback? Shaynna Blaze shares her expert tips!
When you’re planning your dream kitchen, the splashback may not be the first thing you think about but it will be one of the first things everyone will see when they walk into the kitchen because it’s always at eye level.
So it’s important to get it right:
1. The first decision you need to make is whether you want the splashback to blend in with the rest of the kitchen or whether you want it to stand out as a feature?
2. Glass, textures and reflective surfaces can add character and work well when the lights are on or off.
3. In an older kitchen, you can choose to work with existing architectural features like bricks overlaid with glass. This highlights the texture and colour of the bricks and gives an easy-to-clean surface.
4. If you’re on a budget and using less expensive materials for your benchtops, splashing out a bit on your splashback will bring you more bang for your buck.
Whichever way you decide to go, putting some real thought and effort into the humble splashback can really give your new kitchen the wow factor.
