How to Create a Coastal-Style Living Room

In the middle of renovating and decorating her waterside home, interior designer completes her dream coastal-style living room.

Here’s how to get the look:

1) Take inspiration from the water

Sarah wanted to mirror the waves outside, so added accents of blue to the space.

2) Mix and match patterns

By mixing different patterns you create a dynamic look that feels light-hearted.

3) Think about the layout

Create a calm feel with furniture. Place to chaises facing each other so you can sit and relax together.

4) Add practical storage

For family rooms, choose a coffee table with clearance underneath so you can slide wicker baskets underneath – great for storing toys.
