How to Choose the Right Flooring Option

Shaynna Blaze talks you through choosing the right floor type for your home.

Picking the right floor type is vital – it plays a major part in how the finished space will look and feel. Here are a few tips for picking the right flooring to suit your home and your needs.

Carpet

Carpet gives the feel of luxury and style and works extremely well in grand homes. Carpet that is made from 100 percent wool is hard wearing and choosing carpet in lighter colours maximise space.

Laminate

While restoring timber floors is always popular, a good alternative for high traffic areas such as kitchens is laminate. Designed to imitate wood, this flooring option is easy to lay and can cut back on labour costs.

Bamboo

Bamboo floors are ideal for rooms that are moist or humid as they don't contract and expand like wood. It's also a real cost effective option and environmentally friendly.

No matter what you choose, remember to never overlook the look of your floor.

So you can lay laminate flooring over tiles....I presume you need an underlay.
