Pantone has announced its Colour of the Year for 2017 - and it's going to brighten up your home!
'Greenery' was crowned the 'Colour of the Year' by leading colour-choosers, Pantone.
"A refreshing and revitalising shade, 'Greenery' is symbolic of new beginnings," Pantone stated on its website.
Executive Director of The Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, claims: "Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with thre reassurance we year for amid a tumultuous social and political environment".
Basically, given the year we've had (ahem, Brexit, Trump, the ongoing threat of war and a global refugee crisis), Pantone thinks we need to create a bit of an Eden in our own homes. That seems fair enough, right?
So, what does this news mean for your home?
Well, it turns out Greenery - basically just 'green', for us mortals - is quite easy to incorporate into your decor.
Whether vibrant or muted, green provides a great highlight for an otherwise neutral space.
Plants and artwork are a great place to start, with bold, green accents providing the greatest entry point to the colour palette.
Throws, cushions and decor are the next step for those looking to jump right into the trend.
