Foldaway Furniture

Space is a priority. Furniture has to function. Storage is essential, and clutter is a dirty word. Shannon Fricke looks at foldaway, store-away furniture.
The Tables
The versatile Nygard dining table is made of solid birch wood amazingly grows from a tiny 1.4m, 4-seater table to a massive 2.3m table that can seat 10. Both leaves conveniently stow underneath, neatly and out of sight.

With three functional tables that pack away into the space of one the Klubbo nest of tables can be moved around the room and used as individual tables or packed away to clear some floor space for dancing and crashing out after a big night.

The Chairs
Magis 'AIR' Chairs are light and groovy chairs get their names from the air moulding technology used to create them. The Air chairs not only stack to save space but can be used for outdoor use as well.

The Sofa Bed
The Bruhl Tam 3-seater is the stylish answer for lounge room lay-abouts, its designers ditched the pullout trampoline concept and designed a bed that folds out flat to maximize on comfort.

The Side Table
To make dinner run smoothly take a look at the Battista foldable trolley.
The trolley is the brain child of international design guru Antonio Citterio. Folding flat when not required, this serving or drinks trolley also acts as an extra table for those casual TV dinners, or can be used as a makeshift desk.
