Shaynna Blaze explains the benefits of installing a flat pack kitchen if you're on a tight reno budget.
Taking on a kitchen renovation can seem like a massive task, but it doesn’t have to cost the earth. So my budget-saving tip: go for a flat pack.
They come with detailed instructions and pictures, so if you’ve got some power tool skills, you can have a go installing some of it yourself.
Otherwise, get a qualified tradie to install it for you.
Flat pack kitchens come in a great range of quality, style, and price.
The cabinets are available in lots of sizes to suit any kitchen, plus different colours and finishes allow you to tailor the cabinets to suit your existing floors or walls.
There’s also a range of benchtops to choose from, like stone, laminate or timber.
Depending on which style you choose, some benchtops can be made to measure, and some are as easy as buying it off the shelf.
And don’t forget about the splash back tiles. It’s another way to add that personal touch. I’ve gone for a simple marine blue tile here because it connects with the pool that’s right over there.
If you want to make your flat pack kitchen even more stylish, you can add things like push-to-open door hinges, soft close drawer runners or different cabinet handles.
Flat pack kitchens don’t have to mean cookie-cutter. You can add lots of your own personality and features.
And then all you need to do, is get cooking!
