Dick and Angel Strawbridge have been capturing hearts for three seasons now, inviting us on their journey as they continue to restore their 18th-century French chateau. With the fourth chapter about to begin, we look at what they've been up to.
It's impossible not to fall in love with Angel and Dick's contagious romance and the way in which they see the world. Their unwavering positivity and limitless vision is what makes Escape to the Chateau such a joy to watch, where we see these qualities illustrated in the incredible work they do on the chateau.
While we left season three Angel and Dick's wedding business up and running, the fourth season is due to feature more projects and adventures than ever before.
But before we meet the clever couple once again, let's catch up to see what they've been up to since last season.
Angel has launched a homewares line
Taking inspiration from the designs she created from the series, Angel created four collections of wallpaper, bedding, linen, lampshades and curtains that all reflect a part of the chateau. Named, The Chateau by Angel Strawbridge, the collections are: the Potagerie, for the chateau's garden, the Heron collection to reflect the moat, Honeycomb design for the wild meadow and the Oriental garden collection inspired by the bamboo plantation at the chateau.
They've written a book throught their own publishing company
The couple have written a book, titled, 'The Chateau by Dick and Angel, The Beginning...' which tells the whole story of their experience buying the chateau, restoring it and how their lives have changed along the way. However, when mainstream publishing companies didn't agree to publish it, the DIY couple thought to create their own agency: ‘The Chateau Publishing’. And, when you buy the book, it arrives in a bespoke cotton tote bag designed by Angel herself. Is there anything they can't do?

They've created a speaking tour
Starting from February 2020, the Strawbridge's will be touring their ‘Dare to do it’ shows around the UK, sharing their unique experience with their audience. As their Facebook post explains, "We are very excited and can’t wait - as well as the ‘performance’ we’ll be chatting, answering questions and probably having a drink in theatres up and down the country, so we are really look forward to meeting lots of people who have either enjoyed Escape to the Chateau, or are thinking of doing something equally as silly."
They've had LOTS of weddings
Since launching their wedding business, Chateau de la Motte Husson has been high in demand for spectacular weddings - with people flying from all over the world to have their special day at the chateau. With Dick as celebrant, cook and Angel doing the styling and decorating, it's no wonder why the chateau is booked out!
