Easy Makeovers to Transform Your Home

You don’t have to do a lot to make big changes to your home. There are plenty of simple and affordable ways to add value and make it a bit more liveable.

Bunnings has everything you need to do it yourself, which can save you plenty of money in the long run. Here are a few simple project ideas to suit any budget.

1. Simple Kitchen Makeovers

You can give your kitchen a whole new look with just a few basic touch-ups. If your laminate benchtop has seen better days then you can repair, replace or even paint it.

Give your tiles a lift with a coat of tile paint or use a grout pen to re-whiten discoloured grout. You could even replace them with a splashback, which come in a range of colours and styles.

Simple jobs, like installing new taps or cupboard handles can completely change your kitchen’s style and mood. Or it could be that all you need is a new floor. There are plenty of options, including ceramic, terracotta or porcelain tiles, laminate, wooden or vinyl.

Bunnings In-home Kitchen Consultant service can help you plan and create your kitchen renovation or you can try it yourself with the Bunnings 3D kitchen planner.

2. Refresh Your Bathroom

Changing out fittings like the taps, showerhead, soap-dish and towel rails can give your bathroom a new lease on life. You could also try replacing the handles and hinges on your vanity or simply replace the whole unit.

Painting the walls and tiles or re-grouting them can make the space feel brand new. De-clutter with some simple storage like floating shelves, baskets, boxes or decorative containers. Plus, hanging mirrors can make the space look bigger.

3. Revive Your Driveway

Doing up your driveway can be as simple as removing stains with a pressure cleaner or as elaborate as re-paving it. Fill in any cracks or potholes and even paint it any colour you like. Maybe add a touch of nature with some plants and flowers along the sides, perhaps some pebbles, or lighten it up at night by installing some solar path lights.

4. Bring Your Deck Back to Life

You can update the look of your deck in just a weekend. Clean it with a pressure washer, give it a scrub, then re-stain or paint it. You could throw out the old outdoor furniture and replace it with something more stylish. Install some planter boxes, along with some  lovely plants and flowers.

5. Street Appeal

To make the front of your home look better, replace your letterbox and house number, trim your hedges, or just mow the lawn. You can also replace any doorknobs or hinges with shiny new ones, fix up or pave your paths, and fill any empty spots with potted plants or flowers.
