DIY marbled Christmas baubles

Hand made Christmas tree decorations are enjoying a spirited revival.

These DIY marbled baubles are an easy way to add a personalised touch to your Christmas tree that are inexpensive and look absolutely gorgeous!

Not only are they a fun, colourful way to put a modern spin on a classic Chrsistmas decoration, it's a great excuse to use up all those nail polishes you've never worn.

Here's how to make them youself.

1. First, chose the colours you'd like to use. Three colours works well - try using a dark, medium and light combination.

Adding some glitter and gold nail polish will really make the bauble sparkle under your Christmas lights. Make sure the nail polish you choose isn't not dry or gluggy if they're old.

2. Lay down some paper and have some nail polish remover on hand in case things get messy. Be sure to do this in a well ventilated area as the nail polish will give off some smell.

3.Remove the top of the bauble and set aside. Now, pour one colour at a time into the bauble, and swirl until you get the desired effect. You can top up with more nail polish if you feel you need to.

4.Once you're happy with the effect, lay down a cup cake case and set the bauble with the opening facing down. Leave for 24 hours.

5. Hang on your Christmas tree!

Your friends and family will love a crafty afternoon creating these. The results are so pretty it will be tempting to keep them all for yourself, but with a personalised touch such as writing names in glitter glue they also make the perfect gift.
