Design Tips for a Home Office

Whether your home office is a designated space for running your own business or simply a room for paying bills and organising your schedule, Shaynna Blaze shows us how to get more than a desk in a corner!

A home office is so important, get it wrong and you’ll avoid it like the plague. Get it right and your productivity will go through the roof!

It needs to be comfortable, attractive and a reflection of your taste and style and most important of all, it has to inspire you to work. Follow these 3 simple tips for designing the perfect work space!

1) If the area is small, take advantage of the vertical space and install shelves  or tall storage options. Chose furniture that is versatile and offers storage options, ergonomic design doesn’t have to be expensive and its always worth shopping around to find something that fits your budget.

2) Try to minimise the ‘stuff’! One of the biggest challenges of working from home are the blurred lines between home and work life. Personalise your space with a couple of accessories; chose good artwork that reflects your style, but avoid clutter as in the case of Fiona and Kym

3) Finally position your office to take advantage of natural light. It releases chemicals in the brain that make you feel happier and more productive.
