Clean Texta and Stickers From Timber

Shannon Lush reveals how to remove texta and old stickers from timber the natural way.

1. Use methylated spirits for the ink stain and tea tree oil for the stickers.
2. Using pantyhose, apply the metho or tea tree oil and rub fairly hard.
3. Metho is a solvent which re-liquifies the ink pigment so it can be wiped away. A couple of drops of tea tree oil breaks down the adhesive backing. Wipe thoroughly across the whole sticker and leave to penetrate for a few minutes then remove with a plastic knife.
Note: Keep in mind – these solutions aren’t child-friendly and should only be applied when an adult is present.
