The pressure is all on Charlie for this week's renovation, as he attempts his biggest outdoor makeover ever in 13 seasons of Selling Houses Australia.
When it comes to odd houses in odd locations, single mum Jen’s house is definitely right up there with the best!
Her chalet-style home is nestled on an acre of bushland in Empire Bay, on the Central Coast, NSW. She’s just a 15 minute drive from the beach, but her house looks more like it belongs at the snow.
The log-cabin style couldn’t look anymore out of place. And while she lives on an acre block, most of it is inaccessible.
In order to help Jen sell her home, Charlie’s biggest challenge will be making this chalet fit in on the central coast and it’s not exactly going to be easy, or cheap!
Jen purchased her home for $895,000 back in 2017 after falling in love with its quirky charm. But she quickly realised just how much work is involved in looking after a property located on an acre of bushland.
In an effort to sell, she's spent $50,000 in renovations herself, but so far offers have been few and far between.
She’s now prepared to accept $870,000 to get a sale over the line, but her purchase is turning out to be a bit of an expensive mistake.
It's up to the Selling Houses Australia team to give this home and outside overhaul it needs.
Thankfully, the inside is a stark contract from the outside and much to Shaynna’s delight there’s not a great deal for her to do.
Jen's vast floor plan, ample living space and tidy interior are the saving grace of this house, but unfortunately buyers can't see past the timber dated exterior.
So this time it's all down to Charlie to change a cabin retreat into a stylish beachside home.
What could possibly go wrong?
