Chandeliers For Home

For 60 Minute Makeover designer Sophie Robinson, when it comes to chandeliers, bigger is better!

She considers it the perfect accessory to create complete wow factor in a room, and believes it should become the feature of a living space.

So how do you choose the right chandelier for your room?

- As a chandelier is an accent decorative piece to your home, you want your chandelier to complement your existing finishes. E.g. is you have silver picture frames or china settings, you should avoid a gold chandelier.

- Take along a photograph of your room or hallway to the showroom where you are purchasing your chandelier from. If possible, you could also take samples of fabrics in the room, to find the ideal match in style and feel.

- Size does matter! In order to choose the perfect chandelier, you need to keep in mind the size of the room and the size of the furniture. Think big, but don’t over-clutter.

- If your chandelier for the dining room, place it directly above the centre of the table to create a stunning focal point. As this is not a thoroughfare, you can also afford to place it lower than ordinary lights.
