Aussie Fashion Designers Turn their Hands to Homewares

It’s never been easier to surround yourself with designer décor as a plethora of Australian fashion gurus turn their focus to interiors.

  • Collette Dinnigan: For Wonder Walls

Frocks were never going to satiate Collette Dinnigan's desire to design! With a very successful second-coming as an interior designer during her almost 25-year-long career, she is now turning her attention to walls. Yes, you read right! Her collaboration with Porters Paints marks the blossoming of a new luxe love affair with exclusively designed wallpaper that embodies contemporary opulence. The statement wallpapers offer consumers the chance to completely immerse themselves in Collette's whimsical world.

  • Alex Perry: For a Bold Home

What's not to love about Alex Perry's bold collaboration with Linen House? Based on the luxe interiors of the Caribbean and the bazaars of the East, this new drop of on-trend, tailored, graphic bed linen  - part of an ongoing design partnership - arrives just in time for spring! "This season it’s all about creating an escape while keeping a sense of positivity," Perry says. Understated and apologetic it is not, but neither is the fashion force at its helm!

My pick: Avaza Quilt Cover Set

  • Samantha Wills: For a Zen Den

Australian jewellery designer Samantha Wills has enjoyed a meteoric rise from the days of selling her wares at local Australian markets to being lauded for her style force by the New York Times! Her bohemian pieces are worn by the likes of Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, and Eva Mendes. And now, Samantha has extended her Midas touch into the home with a selection of custom, handcrafted wooden photo frames, bookends, and crystals. Keep calm and shop Samantha's interior style!

  • Gorman: For The Contemporary Digs

Ask any girl about town what label they love most for distinctive, fun and fierce patterns and Melbourne label Gorman is front of mind. A go-to for teens and octogenarians alike, Gorman designs sprinkle youth into every wardrobe, regardless of your age. The homewares are also a sight to behold with their heady dose of cheer and whimsy in equal measure. Just as appropriate in a minimal, urban space as they are in the bedrooms of babies, Gorman Homeware taps into the colour lover in all of us!

  • Camilla: For The Gypsy Dwelling

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer," says Camilla Franks - and this woman is one big dreamer! Her designs are infused with a little piece of the international landscapes, towns, and markets where she travels to source her fabrics. Therefore, it's not surprising that every one of her luxe cushions, ottomans, and candles deliver a little dose of wanderlust within your very own four walls!

My pick: Camilla Home Zen Candle

  • Jayson Brunsdon: For the Chic Abode

Jayson Brunsdon’s design ethic has always remained faithful to the timeless style that embodies everything he creates. (He has, after all, dressed HRH Crown Princess Mary!) "A modern twist on classic elegance and sophisticated femininity form the recurring themes to my work,” he has said. “The label appeals to women who take an emotive pleasure in a feeling of retro glamour with a whiff of whimsical postmodern chic." In the realm of Brunsdon’s homewares, this thread of sophistication remains, whether it’s a wine glass or a coffee cup. As an illustrator, himself, Brunsdon’s touch is evident in every piece of his home collection.
