A genius mum has refreshed her old couch - and she saved money doing so!

The unusual technique removes pesky lint balls in minutes!

Livingroom sets can be hefty investments. When you spend a lot of money on a couch, you expect it to last a long time. Unfortunately, over time, the upholstery can begin to ware and pill, making the sofa look worn out and dull.

And one Aussie mum has experienced just that. Taking to social media, she mentioned that her fabric couch had developed lint balls all over the base and arms, making it rough to rest on.

In a bid to avoid shelling out even more money on a new sofa, she thought of her own unique solution to the problem - and it's free!

Somewhat like a pricey electric de-piller, the mum grabbed an electric razor and used it  to trim off all the little lint balls that had collected on the couch. The finished product looked brand new.

Posting on the Mums Who Clean Facebook group, she uploaded a video of the process that racked up hundreds of comments.

“First time poster here, but I found this way too genius not to share," she wrote.

"Not sure if this has already been posted before, but I just found the best way to remove those crappy lint balls from my couch!"

Fellow group members couldn't believe there was such a simple solution to a common problem. Many said they were going to steal their husbands' clippers right now.

One person wrote: "Oh man, this would be so much faster than my lint machine. That takes forever!"

Another said: "That’s fantastic, we have old razors definitely will be giving this a shot."

A third person commented that they also do this, but using an even simpler method: "I use a manual shaver, it works too."
