3 Clever Storage Solutions

Here are three inventive ways to organise your home for the new season.

Have you amassed a great pile of clothing, accessories or household items through winter? It can be quite the eyesore when guests come over, so instead of leaving this mammoth task for the first day of spring you can start sorting your mess now!

You can also take this as an opportunity to add to the look and appeal of your home, with these crafty storage solutions also doubling as fantastic interior decorating ideas.

Here are three inventive ways to organise your home for the new season.

1. Bookcase Shoe organiser

If your shoes are scattered all over the floor of your wardrobe, consider using a bookcase to nicely file and organise your footwear.

This can help to keep your shoes in tip top shape and can even improve the look of your bedroom.

To add your own personal touch, you may want to consider sanding down an old bookshelf and giving it a fresh lick of paint. Another great idea is to line the inside of the shelves with elegant jacquard-patterned wallpaper.

2. Pegboard wall organiser

Keep your home office area immaculate with a handy wall-mounted pegboard. These aren't just useful for organising your garage tools, they can also serve to hold your stationery, craft and sewing supplies, and even your kitchen herbs and spices.

3. Wicker basket hand towel rail

If you have sinks around your home that don't come equipped with a hand towel rail, you're probably used to puddles on the floor due to wet hands.

Get the problem sorted by mounting a wicker basket (with a movable handle) to the wall. Attach the basket (bottom facing the wall) then pull down the handle to work as a towel rail. You can then fill the space in the basket with folded hand towels.
