Hi, we live about 50kms south of Brisbane on 3.6 acres and have a highway about 3kms to the back of it. The traffic noise wasn't so bad when we inspected the house but now drives me mad. I've heard trees can deflect this noise but would have to be extremely dense. Is this true? Are some trees better than others to reduce noise? Any advice would be most welcome. Regards, Jodie
Hi there, I would love some suggestions on plants to add to my garden. The garden is a raised bed 6 ft above ground level at the back of our pool borded by a boundary fence to the back and retaining wall to the front. so basically when you look at the pool it is part of the pool area. I have planted a row/hedge of lillie pillies along the fence for privacy and I need suggestions on plants to put in in front of these. the area is only about 1.5 mtre wide and 9 mtres long. we are on the central coast of nsw and the garden gets the morning sun. because of the wall nothing with big roots. thanks very much Renelle
Hello Charlie, I have a very large and healthy gardenia in a pot that looks like it is getting too big for. How do I change it to a bigger pot? It is about 90cm wide.
I found this advert on Gumtree. I am no gardener are there organisations who would help this young girl in the Perth area. hi, my mum is a single mum with four kids. We've been living off a single salary all our lives, making it extremely difficult to get through. After watching my mum cry too many times, I've decided to put my foot down. I don't have a job so I can't pay much, as I am always babysitting and raising the other children while mum works, my sisters have mild mental disabilities. I am planning to do our garden, as a surprise for my mum. To finally give back to her. If you are feeling charitable, please contact me to help us out. I'm looking for grass, bricks, anything you need to redo a garden. Even a helping hand would be nice. Please give me a shout, I would be forever greatful :) 0420424979
Hi, I live next door to a daycare centre which has several trees in the playground. I believe several are fig trees and I attach a photo of the tree closest to my property. I am worried about what damage the roots could do to our property so I have had a root barrier put in but the barrier isn't very deep. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there. I live next door to a daycare centre who have several (what I believe) are fig trees. The photo attached is the one closest to the fence near our house. I have had a root barrier put in for piece of mind but it didn't look like it went in very deep. My worry is the roots, are they likely to go under the root barrier, how far do they travel, am I likely to have any damage etc. I have lots of questions and lots of worry. Any advice would be great.
Hi Charlie, we are in the process of designing and building a custom built home on the Mornington Peninsula, in Mt eliza. We have no landscaping plans done and a 1500 block - so lots of space to design great things. Would you be interested in designing and landscaping our garden, and use it on your show? I can send you house design plans
Charlie, This Lily was given to me by my Dad. I have not been able to find out the name of it. Here is a photo of the flower, it has a really strong, sweet scent. Could you please tell me the name of my Lily. Cheers Kim
Hi Charlie, A while ago you used a type of crushed rock in one of your projects on Selling Houses Aust. which was eco friendly and economical as well - was it a crushed granite? Would like to know exactly what it is and if it is widely available. We live in the Yarra Ranges. Thank you in advance, Regards, Astrid
