The Yip Family - Darren, Trudy, Eileen & Matt - are a Chinese-Australian family who work as vegetable market sellers at Sydney Markets.
The Yip family own Yep Lam & Co, a wholsale produce merchant. Although the company sells onions, pumpkin, garlic and ginger, they are the largest distributor of gourmet poatatos.
They sell 31 varities of potatos to be exact, and often to top class restaurants all over the city.
Trudi Yip is the day to day manager of the company, she is married to an Englishman and has two ‘fur-babies’. Working with her are her cousins Matt and Darren and her aunt, Eileen.
Eileen Yip has spent her life at the markets and is a mother of five, having been married to her husband for 50 years. Elieen loves a good dad joke and she is very popular with the customers.
Darren has an 18-month-old daughter, while Matt is the baby of the family - cousin Trudi is often caught trying to whip him into shape.
Yep Lam & Co was established in 1940 by Eileen's father and the company has been passed down through generations. This year marks its 77th anniversay, making them one of the oldest sellers at Sydney Markets.
