Melissa King

TV presenter, horticulturalist, cook book author… Garden Angel

Horticulturalist, gardening writer and television presenter Melissa King is more than just a pretty face. She is fast becoming one of Australia’s most popular and respected garden experts and television presenters. Melissa’s passion for gardening led her to complete a horticultural degree at Burnley, Dux of her class. Moving into radio, her naturally engaging personality was spotted early and she was channelled into television presenting.

After four years presenting on Gardening Australia alongside Peter Cundall, she hosted the gardening segment on Melbourne Weekender, before starring as one of the key presenters on The Garden Gurus. Melissa hosted a series of gardening-lifestyle stories on What’s Good For You Spring Special in the lead up to the series, Battlefronts, a weekly war on two front yards.

Melissa’s flair for writing has seen her release her first book entitled Garden Feast bringing together two of her greatest passions – gardens and food. The book was nominated for a prestigious “Le Cordon Bleu” World Food Media Award. She has also written for publications including Burke’s Backyard, Gardening Australia and The Age.
