Kevin McCloud has written and presented the hugely successful and frequently BAFTA-nominated series Grand Designs since the program started. He studied the Histories of Art and Architecture at Cambridge University and received excellent Degrees in both.
Kevin became a theatrical and lighting designer before starting his career as an author with Kevin McCloud's Decorating Book (Dorling Kindersley). He has since written a number of other books including Kevin McCloud's Lighting Book (Ebury, 1995), The Complete Decorator (Ebury, 1997), The Outdoor Decorator (Ebury, 1999), Choosing Colours (Quadrille, 2003) and Grand Designs Abroad (Collins, 2004). He also works as a product and lighting designer, and collaborates with Aga/Fired Earth in designing their paint range.
He appears frequently in the press and on television as a design commentator and will once again be presenting the RIBA Stirling Prize 2006 on Channel 4. Kevin writes an ongoing monthly piece for The Sunday Times.
