Vivacious friends Angie and Yvie met five years ago when Yvie was playing Mrs Claus and Angie was playing her elf at a Christmas promotion in a shopping centre. Although there is a 17-year age gap between the pair, they hit it off instantly and have been best friends ever since.
Yvie lives with her housemate, Tom. Tom has Down Syndrome and Type 1 Diabetes, and both Yvie and Angie support him by helping him integrate into the community. They also have their hands full fostering dogs, having up to eight dogs in the house at the one time!
This Gogglebox household is vibrant and noisy thanks to the small circus of dogs they have living with them at any given time. Pomeranian Oscar de la Renta are boxer Sissy are permanent fixtures in the home, but the girls’ love of animals also sees them playing foster mums to dogs in need.
Like a lot of us, the girls love grabbing some takeaway, a cheeky wine (or a Frangelico on ice if they’re feeling “fancy”) and settling in for a bit of telly. Critiquing shows and celebrities alike, they enjoy everything from cult series like Orange is the New Black, Girls and Arrested Development to The Bachelor Australia, as well as documentaries and Australian productions.
Occupation: Nanny/PA and events worker
Shows I love: GIRLS, Broad City, Friends, Sex & the City, docos and reality TV.
Shows I hate: Biggest Loser, sport shows or sport in general unless it’s NRL. I’m also kind of over building/reno shows and cooking shows too.
My TV rituals: Lying on an entire couch to myself, usually with one of my fur babies all up in my spot, a novelty sized teacup filled with earl grey and some corn chips and avo dip!
What bugs me while watching TV: When Yvie gets the good couch and when people talk too much through the shows I really want to watch. (Haha surprise, surprise - pot calling the kettle black!)
