Tommy's Fix Your House For...

My father passed away a yr ago. I would like to make his dream a reality. It's a cabin and rec hall/shop that needs desperate repair. He was kind enough to let a guy and his family live there and they trashed the place. Hey Tom , My name is carlos , i currently live with my partner and is him whom would like to talk to you about, yes him, we are a gay couple and we been together for a while. he's been in the military for almost 7 years , and with 24 years of age has been to war 3 times and still serving for our country , he's the kind of person that when he wants something he will do anything and i mean anything to achieve it. he's always taking care of his mother as well and family , which is has been really hard for him doing it by himself since he's still not out about his sexuality only to a few close friends, just bought a house that we have been repairing everytime we have a dime to spend on it, but is been really hard due to his military training and me working full time , theres no really much i can say about our situation but just that we need help . we both starting our lives with this house and i don't want him to see it like another thing he has to put on his shoulders thats falling down indeed i would do anything to make his dream house come through , i know that you probably have other people that are more qualified for your help but i would really appreciate just to consider .

Hi Tommy,,,i am still a stay at home mom for 21 years,,,,i have four children and one grandchild and one on the way,,,,My husband is the has been supporting us for 21 years,,,,i am always looking to work filling out applications and because i dont have a high school diploma and dont have the time to go back its tough. I have my son and his wife who are expecting their first child in nov. who was suppose to move out and lost his job so now staying in a little room with his wife. My daughter and her fiance and there baby have been looking but her fiance is working part time good worker but cant get full time so they can get there own place,,,i have two younger daughters here too,,,16 and 15 they have been dealing with alot ,,,,there are alot of people here in this house baby crying.we were scammed a few years ago on our mortgage money over $5,000 dollars and because the woman wouldnt give us back our contracts the news or no one else could help us,it made us miss a few mortgage payments and file bankruptcy,give up our dogs cause we were lucky we lived pay check to pay check the kids help us as much as they can. Why does this always happen to my family we never take anything from no one and no family members on either side ever help we are always on our own. We cant even take a loan out to finish our basement , so we can use the whole house to many people up stairs , we love our children and will help them out when this economy hopefully picks up soon.money is always tight for us, i wanted to fix the basement up for my husband to get these kids down stairs and give us back our house, we always do for others we are great people but cant get loans and we want to finish the basement we take good care of our home its all we have , we love our kids we love our grand kids,,,but my husband is the best husband and father any woman and kids can have please please please help us we need it family is all we have and its important to us and to help them cause we never got it ,,,thank you fro your time Teresa

Dear Tommy,
I am leaving this request for you on behalf of my mother (who is none the wiser to my actions), my reasons being that the state of her house is begining to affect her health and I am very worried.
6 years ago she bought the house she is living in and has, over the years, completely renovated it changing every room. However, there has been a major problem with dampness that is slowly destroying the walls and her furniture. She has had many professionals in and carried out all the work they have recommended including the to exterior of the property. Thousands has been spent and she is no further forward.
My son stays with her at weekends while I work and this is now begining to affect him aswell as he has suffered pneumonia causing him to have seizures as a result of dampness in the past.
We would be willing to pay for any work carried out. Further information on work already carried out can be made available along with pictures.
Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.

Hi Tommy, my name is jay. I have just spent all i have to buy a house for me & my family. I dont have the money to make the necessary repairs on the exterior of the house. ie new driveway, walkways on both sides of house, brickwork in front of house, fencing around house, new garage, etc. I would really like to take this time to thank you in advance for even reading this. Hi Tommy, I hope that you can possibly help my husband and me. We've finally found our perch so to speak and this is where we will probably drop off from. The views are amazing, but the house itself is in disrepair. It's has they say the worst house in the best street, with the best view. We would love our house to have a complete makeover ie: a new paint job throughout, an updated kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with a walk in robe, new tiled floor with carpeted bedrooms and last but not least a verandah that we know that we won't be falling through. Morning tommy watched ur program yesturday and contacted a company ur mate got free stuff from their skip the manager and a coordinator told me they don't get involved in giving away stuff from their skip. Really needed sinks for my house that I am trying to gut and extend myself so I have space due to . I even mentioned ur show any advice

I just read an online article from the Associated Press – Sun, Jan 22, 2012. The article titled "Evicted 101-year-old Detroit woman can't go home" was about a woman who lost her house because her 65 year-old son didn't pay property taxes. She was told she could move back in but HUD officials changed their minds when they saw the condition of the house saying the house "was completely unsuitable for a person to live in." They are looking for help and for someone to fix the house so she can move back in... Are you the guys? I don't know because I don't watch TV. I just googled "TV shows that fix houses". I just want to see her moved back into her home for the remainder of her years.

Hi Tommy. I am writing this for my Mum. After divorcing a couple of years ago she had to move into a bit of a run down house cause that's all she could afford. Unfortunately the house has only gotten worse. Every room needs help! The roof is leaking and the walls look like they're about to fall down around her! I know she wants to fix it but she never has the money cause something else will come up, like her car gave up on her or her dog needed surgery. She lives to help her kids and makes everyone around her happy. She is supporting my sister while she goes through TAFE to become a nurse and she now has a 5 month old grandson and I know I wouldn't have got by without her. I would love to take him to her house but there is no where for him to play. I just want her to be as happy as she makes everyone else. Please help!

Hey tommy my name is April meade I'm righting this for my parents ,please help my parents brought the house when they were nineteen and built on renovated everything the house didnt have a bathroom ,things just keep popping up the tiles rant finished because the hallway goes down a step the bathroom walls are cracking and the scurtan boards need staining ,I've tried helping because my parents both work full time I have painted and gerni the hole wood outside and stained by myself but it still it not enough there are holes in walls and roofs and un finished renovations due to money please help we want to sell the house and my parents will split the money and go there separate wayse I carnt do this all by myself or my parents will be unhappy for a long time please help my family

Tommy Hi i do not know if you do this in Australia but my daughter is desperate after having twins they were told they could not have more babies but they are now living in a house which is the middle of renos and her husband has been in and out of work but no wfin ally has a great job but they need to get renos finished before the next baby comes with no money i do not know how we have given as much as we can please pease can you help as the renos have been going for a long time she should have been back at work by now but with the new bub coming along no hope for a while they are desperate and we worry for them they are a loving family and have gone to hell and back this year

Hi Tommy, my name is Courtney and I am 18 years old. I have lived in the same house my entire life, and it is quite an old house. Things are falling apart, don't work and just look really bad. For years my parents have been talking about knocking down and rebuilding, but we just simply can't afford it - so it seems renovation is the only way to go. We just recently renovated our bedrooms completely ourselves (Painting, new furniature etc), but there are more important rooms that are in desperate need of a makeover/fix-up. Our kitchen is old, and I feel really unhygenic whenever I use it, it's falling apart, our cupboards are old and our roof is peeling. The Bathroom is just as bad, the tiles are coming off the walls, the roof is peeling, everytime we use the toilet, the pipes clog up and we have to keep plunging to get the water back down and it's really outdated too. Our Laundry is small, and could definitely need a fix up, and likewise our loungeroom and dining room.. Our house is a disaster! Please help!

What a wonderful idea to help a family out with renovating their home! I wish this was something more builders and renovators would take on - as i can see there is certainly the need for it! Our house too would love a make-over. We bought the house in Feb 2011 and have slowly discovered plenty of 'quirks'. We're working on fixing the leaking roof slowly, as well as dreaming of fixing the bathroom, toilet (which actually wobbles!) and laundry. The kitchen too is struggling under the lack of bench space and crazy lime green mdf cupboards. We have our own unique family struggles - but don't want to let them get in the way of making our dreams reality. Thanks for the opportunity to be able to post a comment on your site. Hi Tommy, My name is Bonita. And I am writing this on behalf of my Nana. She is 61 years old, an ambulance officer, and she never has time for herself to get anything done. She is ALWAYS giving. My Nana did have some money saved up to renovate her house after her husband died in 2002. But when in need my Nana gives all she has, including the savings for the renovations. It's gotten to the point where even in the bathroom and the kitchen there aren't even any taps. She uses a pair of pliers to turn the water on. I love my Nana so much, and I really think she deserves a beautiful house to come home to, after a long days work of helping everyone but herself. hi tommy im ony 13 turning 14 in 1 week but my family needs help with our house my mum has been through breat cancer not very long ago. and costs alot of money my step dad had a heart attack and hes 62 and both my mum and my step dad work soo very hard everyweek , have 2 brothers aswell and 1 daughter (me) were fniding it diffcult cause im worried that my step dad is getting to old and hecould get sick but anyway it would be a dream come true for my family and would help for all the motgages and bills ..i understand if you are unavailable to help i just really need your help and my family really needs your help

I am single female who bought a bare bones fixer upper in Ohio- with a 10k downpayment after my Beloved Dad passed..
It is 926 square feet- and the house is gutted- sits on 2 acres with a 5 acre lake behind it. I have managed to plant 25 trees and rose gardens to improve the look- I am happy with my landscaping undertaking- yet I still cant go to the bathroom and have to drive 3 miles to go to a gas station and use the toliet- I dont have insultation or drywall- I do have electric- The back looks out on a lake and my fanatasy is to have a indoor outdoor room and deck that can really soak in the natural beauty of the place- in the back- literally you could build something that comes out over the pond.
I am poor and have been renovating on a shoe string budget.

Hi Tommy

My husband and I purchased our first home in June last year with plans to renovate over a four year period. A lot of problems have risen that were not detected in the building report and apparently we have no legal ground to fight this. To complicate our situation, after being told we were unable to have children without medical treatment, we are now naturally expecting our first baby in September! We need to renovate the nursery, change the electrics of the house (which we are informed are illegal!) and there are several other renovation jobs to rooms and a staircase that need rgent attention before the baby arrives. Can you help us??? We watch all of the renovation programs on Lifestyle religously and you see families in need who are helped and we really are struggling now trying to juggle pregnancy and other meical complications, work and university commitments with renovating a property we intended to complete in four years in a 3 month period!

Please let me know if there is anyone who can help us.
