The Party Garden

About the show

The Party Garden™, a new series exclusive to The LifeStyle Channel, is helping to transform gardens across Australia into the perfect outdoor celebration setting this spring.

From a classic dinner party, a kids’ birthday party, a family gathering through to an Italian inspired tomato festival, the show provides six families with the inspiration and know-how to create the perfect party garden for any occasion.

For anyone who loves to entertain, eat outdoors and spend time with their family and friends, this show, with help from iconic gardening brand Yates, provides the creative ideas for getting Aussie backyards into top shape for entertaining this party season.

Landscape designer, Charlie Albone, will provide the how-to brains and the muscle behind these outdoor transformations. As a qualified landscape designer he has transformed lots of outdoor spaces on The Lifestyle Channel’s Selling House Australia with practicality and creative flair. Although shortlisted as one of Cleo magazine’s 50 most eligible bachelors for 2009, Charlie’s much more than just a pretty face.

Joining Charlie is Juliet Love, an interior designer who brings extra style to the party gardens by showcasing the latest trends for backyard entertaining this spring and summer.

With great ideas from The Party Garden™, entertaining in your garden is going to be more fun than ever before!

    Hi Charlie and Juliet,
    PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I have been living in our first home for just on a year now and have totally hit a road block when it comes to starting to inprove our backyard!
Before we moved into our 85yr old home we needed to address some urgent problems these being the bathroom and kitchen which now function and look much better but pretty much burnt through what was left of our savings.
Since moving in we have started on planting a front garden and hedge( with alot of help from our green finger mums) which is definately an improvement, but what we really need is a flow from the inside to the outside and create a modern outdoor party garden.
A couple of months ago a freak evening storm took down part of one side of our derelict fence which was kind of a blessing but with what cash we had saved to start on the backyard we had to use on repairing the entire fence!! (which does look pretty good).
But now the fence is done all we want is to do something with our weed infested, barren backyard. We're so keen to get into it ourselves but realistically we have no idea what we're doing. Saying this we have thought about getting in a landscaper to help us and give us some ideas but having just found out I'm 3 1/2 months pregnant it's just a luxury we can't afford.
I truely have never written into anything like this before because I don't want to sound like a hard luck story, but even if your list is too long and we don't make it onto your show we would just love some professional advice on where to start.
P.S. We would really love to be able to use our potentially fantastic "Party Garden" for a future christening.
    Kind Regards
    Rebecca
We would love to use our backyard as part of an extension of our small indoor entertaining
Inside we have done as much as we can financially to improve our 85year old home b

Hi Charlie and team,I am so thrilled to write to you . I have been meaning to write since i started seeing some shows from US in the similar fashion and then i saw ur ads for the new series. . Let me start with my appreciation for all these kinda programs on lifestyle ..its my fav channel since 2 years. I have a decent home and a decent size backyard with pretty much nothing in it .we love spending time with our friends and family and would love to have a party garden in our backyard. We have a 10 month baby.My parents and in my in laws are expected from overseas for his first birthday.so the house is going ot be full. My husband is a regular visitor of Bunnings and gets all kinds of plants after watching all garden shows .Unfortunately many of them don't last too long .It could be that my house gets really really cold and the soil may not be too good. My husband is extremely diligent and so he is mostly in the garden on weekends tidying lawn, plants .we have a long shed at the back. One side of it is turned into chicken coupé ,we have 2 chickens and other part is a small indoor garden ,was intended for veggie patch but vegetables didn't grow at all:(. We have done up our front lawn quite OK with much effort. But just have no clue as to what to do in our backyard .We had started putting together some idea few months ago but by then my husband lost his job. Thankfully , he found job last month. We would like to do up our backyard with outdoor setting for the family and my big solcial circle to enjoy while they are here in summer. Would you be able to help us ? We would love to get some advise or assistance from you guys on my home and garden. We are not usually very lucky people .So I would understand if we don't get on your program .But please do respond so at least we know that we didn't make it to your unending list. Looking forward to hearing from you rakhee
