Andrew Winter is obsessed with houses. With 25 years experience in the property trade, he believes that if you haven’t sold your house within two months then you’re doing something wrong.
“I’ve seen all different market conditions, met all different types of buyers from the poorest to the richest, met all types of sellers with all different kinds of attitudes, met all different kinds of estate agents, some great, some absolutely awful! Sold luxury homes, dream homes, derelict farm buildings, homes in scary areas, new homes, 400 year old houses and empty land – that’s why I have the confidence to really say I do know what I am talking about when it comes to houses!”
Andrew started his career in estate agency at the tender age of 17 and sold his fi rst home within a matter of months. His career started with a Bristol based agency who gave him terrific house sales skills. The next few years were spent at a fi m of Chartered Surveyors fine tuning his house selling skills, but combining it with inside knowledge of construction, structural issues, building faults and problems. Andrew then spent many years working in The Cotswold’s, selling country cottages, derelict barns, and never going anywhere without a pair of wellies in the boot!
To further expand his career he made the big move to Central London where he sold apartments and townhouses in the famous Baker Street / Oxford Street / Regents Park areas. For around eight years Andrew was a partner in the exciting Canary Wharf area of London, involved with property investments, property management, sales and new developments. He then spent a year as a Consultant for a newly created Estate Agency in Kent, overseeing business development, helping sellers get their homes sold and working with the staff and managers to build
up their brand.
His career then gained an added angle - he was chosen to present and research a new TV program about his favourite subject “Selling Houses”. Now in its ninth year of production, the series has gone from strength to strength. Andrew has also recently released a book, Andrew Winter’s No Nonsense Guide to Buying and Selling Property.
Andrew lives and works on the Gold Coast having moved to Australia with his family in 2005. Along with presenting Selling Houses Australia, Andrew operates a consultancy helping people sell homes all across Australia.

Myparents have had their house on the market for 4 years. It is in Townsville. They are selling to be closer to us in NSW. If there is anyway you could help themwe woud all be most appreciative. We need help advice on selling our house in Chatswood NSW, its been on the market since last year september 2011.

How can I get there help to sell my home.... We need all the help we can get please! With 5 kids they have drawn on walls and just basically destroyed everything.. We have renovated but the great little home just isn't selling! Please help us avoid sinking!
