Giving gifts can be a taste minefield. Many expensive but ill-judged trinkets end up in a drawer, or are sent straight to the charity shop. After snooping around an ordinary home, three very different interior design experts take on the House Gift challenge, to find a perfect present for the owners. As the style gurus scour flea markets, shops and auction rooms, they share design tricks of the trade, give top tips to help find a bargain and tell us how to spot an antique. But, one person's precious objet d'art is another person's ashtray, and to make things even more difficult, they each have a different budget; £1,000, £500 or £200. Finally, the owners of the house get to see their gifts, but can keep just one, and only then will they find out how much it's worth. So, will it be head or heart that wins? Will they choose what they love best or what they think cost the most? With so much to offer, House Gift is a real television treat.
