You may think it’s just people in your own country that seem to be getting fatter, but that’s not the case. This astonishing documentary series sees eight overweight British people spend time in countries where obesity levels are like no other, in the hope that experiencing the devastating global effects of obesity will stop them heading for the same ill fate as the people they meet.
Each episode sees two big Brits live with obese people who live in the USA, Argentina, Greece and Kuwait. They eat what they eat and share their lifestyle, getting a sense of why each country has become a hotspot for obesity. But, most alarmingly, during their stay they’re exposed to a series of experiences that reveal the dark truth about this life-threatening disease. It’s devastatingly shocking, but will seeing other people suffering be enough to encourage these eight young people to think differently about their own health issues, or will they simply choose to ignore the warnings and continue to abuse their bodies as they did before?
