Eat Yourself Sexy

About the show

Expert nutritionist Gillian McKeith knows you can eat yourself sexy in just eight weeks and she’s about to transform the lives of 13 women to prove it. From the salad-dodging, hefty housewife who has lost her libido, to the fat and frantic, meat-loving mother of four who never has time for herself, join the good-food guru as she helps women reclaim the sexy woman within. With her trademark humour, no-nonsense approach, and a healthy dose of tough love, Gillian introduces her protégés to a customised exercise regime and an all-new diet of fresh and wholesome natural foods that are great for the waistline and the family budget. There are lots of practical tips and surprises along the way and plenty of inspiration as these courageous women take life by the horns, get back on the road to loving themselves and go from saggy and stressed-out, to sexy and stunning in just eight short weeks.

Nice idea for a show, but seriously, a Naturopath doing a medical check? Not only is this concerning, it is blatantly wrong. A Naturopath does not have the correct background or training to interpret more than half the blood tests she ordered, and listening to some ridiculous garbage about the body "storing fluid between the cells" makes me wonder about whether this shows lawyers have the read the fine print..Not only medically unsound, but misleading. Please, do this show properly - it could be wonderful if you did.

Gillian is a nutritionist, they are allowed to order blood tests. I am sure she would have a medical consultant working on the show also.

I am following the meal plan and started today, so am on day 1. I ate the quinoa meal for lunch as directed, 1 cup of quinoa. After eating it I looked up the calories and portion sizes that are meant to be had from quinoa and it is a lot less – apparently you should only be eating 1/2 cup uncooked quinoa, not 1 cup. 1 cup packs a whopping 620 calories – that doesn’t sound like a meal to lose weight on! Can you please advice/help now? I feel upset that I’ve just consumed that many calories.

      August 2011

Hey I looked up the amount of calories for 1 cup of cooked quinoa and it's only something like 222 calories, not 620!! So you can relax about that...I'm not sure where you got that amount from I would be upset as well

I'm having the same problem, but can find SOME of the recipes if I Google 'eat yourself sexy' and the name of the recipe. It would be great if the recipes could be listed by episode, as some seem to have different names than what I thought the nutritionist called them.

I cried through most of the Amanda episode as it is my life. I often say that since I met my husband I have gained a husband, two children and 20 kilos. I wish I could have been Amanda and gotten the help she did but it has definitely given me a kick start. I have been eating healthier and exercising regularly and have started feeling better about myself and noticing a difference already! Go 'Eat Yourself Sexy' I think you are wonderful. Looking forward to getting healthy, lighter, fitter and SEXIER!

As a personal trainer I have to sat this is ridiculous, damn naturopaths! Why oh why would you start an overweight person's day with pineapple juice???? I thought they wanted to add fibre and reduce sugar to Amanda's diet. Well have the fruit juice, just took the fibre out of the diet and added Fructose to her blood. Great work! She should be hitting the weights 4 times per week, minimum and reduce her cardio down to interval training only. Sorry but the nutritional advice and training regime are, well soft.

    • AV
      October 2011

Sorry Ed, but I would be taking the advice of a Nutritionist in regards to food, before I took the advice of a personal trainer in regards to food. I think the Nutritionist has more knowledge on food than Personal trainers.

    • Nay
      August 2011

Pineapple juice is a wonderful natural treatment for inflammation. It is also great for digestion. The fresh or canned pineapple is better than juice though as it still has fibre and fills you up plus helps keep you regular.
