I have a question regarding the evening meals on the planners, often there are dishes like stir fries, but there is no mention of rice to have with them. Is the plan to intentionally leave out carbs with the evening meal?
Hi Judith, generally after around 4pm in the afternoon your body starts to go into 'slumber mode' and carbs are not broken down efficiently and therefore are stored by the body as fat for future energy stores, part of our 'caveman physiology' that can't be altered. Therefore the meals are probably tailored to leave out carbs in the evening. If you really want to eat your stir fry with a base try adding in some roasted buckwheat for crunch or if you can't live without your rice eat a measured portion (1 cup per person) and eat brown or wild rice instead of white. Anything white is stacked full of starch and will release additional sugars into your bloodstream that is not ideal prior to going to bed. Add some lemon juice to your stir fry as well, this gives your metabolism a little kick. Hope that helps - Amy <3

I see how if the people on the show, without intervention would continue to gain but moost of them really dont need to lose weight and im betting 6/8 will gain it back :/ weirdly enuff their weightgain and bad eating habits can actually be a major turn on to their partners so its tripped out that their trying to make it look discusting, yeah weightgain its gross to some but it can still be hot, i find the show brainwashing but some of the facts in it are good to know...

What brand are the juicers that you use to add the whole lemon - seeds and all please? The show is good. But what about people who do eat very healthily or maybe not enough and have little sleep and just can't lose those last few kilos but still look good.

Hi Emma: what is the best juicer. I want to get one but it has to be easy to clean, foolproof and give me the maximum output for minimum effort. My husband LOVES beetroot and I think he'd be very keen to have the juice with beetroot and ginger to start his day. Me: I just want something to cleanse.
Julia I just bought one its a styleplus, I found it great! it does have about 5 pieces to clean but all are very simple to pull apart and put back together. It cost me $99 online (the only thing I found it will do it but doesnt overly like pineapple with all the skin on, I just ruffly take it off. Kaz

All the information is highly accessible and easy to implement with out too much financial investment. Every time I watch the show it gently brings my habits back toward the healthy line. I'm one of the many women who would love to be on this show. I'm 31 and have three children under 5 (I had them in just over three years). Since the pregnancy of my first child I've put on weight and am currently about 14kg over my pre-baby weight. I completely love your show and it is giving me inspiration and ideas but I'm hoping to see someone in my situation. I'm exercising 4 times a week and eating right (I think) most of the time - I'm no saint. But rather than losing weight, I’ve actually put a small amount on and I’ve been working at this for a few months now. It’s all very disheartening and I can’t work out where I’m going wrong. Surely cutting out chocolate and chips and biscuits and increasing exercise should make a difference! Can anyone give me any ideas where I’m going wrong or come and spend 8 weeks with me and kick me into sexy!

Not a bad program always brings a tear to the eye to see people improve themselves. Sadly the dress selection for the big reveal also brings a tear to the eye. In the two episodes I have watched after weeks and weeks of exercise the best you guys could come up with was a black dress and something that looked it had been stolen from the streets of Bagdad. For the thai beef and broccoi salad how many serves does that make? and also the 1cup of oats for breakfast is that just a serve for one person? Hi, it's Rebecca here... May be able to lend a hand :) My serving sizes changed considerably as I increased my exercise but if you are doing minimal exercise then your meat portion should always be between 100g to 120g. That makes 1 serve. Yes, the 1 cup of oats is indeed 1 serve. Happy to answer anymore questions :)

Love the show - do you have the details for the clinic or is it just for the show? I have just turned forty and have seen my 40th bday photo's and am guttered that I am that fat. I have been looking after family members for the last 12 years and recent nursed my mother thru MND who has now passed away - not that I blame them for my fat but being in a hospital everyday feeding an adult kind of turned my stomach so I lived on a coffee until tea time - I actually dont think I know how to eat properly anymore and if I can I would love to come to the clinic to get my life back. Emma, Just printed off the meal plans for Janine, but on week 7 you put her on a 4 day liquid detox, which is not on her plan? any reason, could we have it included on this site? love the show. I agree you need to have an older person on the next show, preferably post menopause as even if you have been fit and active most of your life, as I have, hitting the 50's and 60's age group your body definately changes. Apart from waistline expansion, I find the biggest problem is the lack of concentration and decision making, which I am sure is associated with type of foods.

My partner and I have been struggling with our weight for a few years now, we have actually been trying to have kids but it has been hard as they think it has to do with both of us being over weight. I am 28 and my partner 30. A lot of our struggles have to do with our eating habits and the portions we eat, we both go to the gym but eat more carbs and not enough fruit and vegetables. Great show!! There's one thing that's really bugging me though...to all the presenters, can you please stop saying 'Diabetes' and specify that you're talking about 'Type 2 Diabetes'!! As a Type 1 since primary school, I'm really starting to get angry at the fact that the media is putting all 'diabetics' into the same box. I'm 35, weigh 56kgs and am fitter /healthier than most 'normal' people (I even run marathons). Type 1 has nothing to do with diet and lifestyle. Yet the media keeps talking about being overweight and getting 'Diabetes'. No, it's TYPE 2 Diabetes! I can't tell you how many times people say to me "but you don't look like a diabetic.." because all seem to hear is 'diabetic' and 'overweight' in the same sentence. So, please, please presenters, be clear with the term diabetes and start saying 'Type 2'!! Ok, that's my rant over ;)
Yes, Paige, I am a personal trainer and my brother in law has Type 1 Diabetes, I am with you and find it quite 'annoying' that there seems to be no difference to Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 is definitely life style related and can be helped by diet, exercise, etc. Type 1 - you guys have no chance of 'a cure' and can only 'manage' your condition. Also most people don't realise that Type 2 is nearly compltely reversible if they can get diet and exercise under control. Rita

I'm a recent mummy and feel disgusted with my body. During my pregnancy I put on 7.75kg and lost 10kg after giving birth. But since having my beautiful baby boy and staying at home (which I've never done before), I've put on 8.5kg and feel awful... I've decided to pull my finger out and get moving and become my conscious with my food choices. This show motivates me. I will be rewarding myself at every 5kg lost. i just saw the show about sonia, and honestly, she could be my twin, except i dont eat a lot of food or chocolate, and im not pregnant. i am still trying so hard and have only managed to lose 3kg in 8 weeks. i have a knee injury, and find it so hard to exercise. i really dont want to be alive anymore, and often just feel like taking a knife out to cut all this fat off me.. i try so hard, and nothing seems to work. its so demoralising. ill keep watching the show however, and try to use the information i get from it. thanks for the great shows

Hi Jan, I would jump on the Natural Therapies Pages website and search for a naturopath in your local area. Then see whether they can organise the tests to be done locally. It makes a world of difference to have thorough tests completed both before and after the program.
ive noticed that all the ladies so far all have partners and children does that matter if i dont to still spply for the show im 21 yrs old weigh 105 kgs size 18 to 20 altho i gym regulary and i dont think my diet is that bad i just cant seem to loose my weight ive just lost 15 kgs over a year but its so hard and its so easy to jus get down on myself and loose motovation and give up.
Trying to find one of the meal plans that suits me the best, have a real problems with sugar and snacking between meals. Am trying to kick the chocolate addiction, like a lot of the girls have done. I love eating healthly meals, but my in between is what is killing me. I feel like a bit of a sugar addict, and have been reading up on ditching sugar all together (bit of a task with how many foods have it). Emma, was wondering if its necessary to ditch all sugar including a lot of fruits , especilly dried fruits etc, and will this help to rid my body of the addiction. Are there other foods that will help my body get over this and that I should now be snacking on instead? Do you recommend any particular meal plan so far that would help with this?

Hi I would like to know how to nominate my mum for “eat yourself sexy” she doesn’t know I am doing this but I really think this is the only way to kick start her to a healthier lifestyle. She is 42 years old and is really upset about not able to fit into beautiful dresses that she buys online, she is trying to find the right dress to wear on my wedding day in March next year. I keep trying to urge her to exercise with me and eat healthier but she won’t budge she tries all these slim shakes to try and lose weight but it never works. Love to be part of the show, have spent the last nine years watching what I eat and exercising, but fear that my eating habits are not bad enough to be part of the show. I'm not addicted to chocolate or sugary treats, rarely eat cake, only drink water or coffee. Just cant get the last 10 kilos after 5 children to shift and at 42 starting to think it never will. She was exactly me to a t as well - as an Italian-Australian I eat far too much pasta and other calorie-loaded food. I've just downloaded the meal plan and hope to be able to follow it.
After watching Daniella's show,L felt so bad for her state of mind more than anything. How can she hate herself SO much and wonder why her husband still loves her when he is more overweight than she is???

My name is Alexis, I am turning 27 in less than two weeks, weigh 126kgs and am 180cm tall. I am married, have two children under 6, and have food allergies to eggs, avocados and honey. I am in dire straights to be fit and healthy but most diets (CSIRO, Terry White, Pre-packaged Diets from pharmacies) all require an egg a day or avocado sliced, smashed or mixed in something. This is very frustrating for me. I have recently had a hysterectomy and recovered from pneumonia. I watched the show for the first time last night and while I didn't learn anything new I really enjoyed it. I too need to lose weight (a lot of weight) but unfortunately can't relate to any of the women thus far. I'm 49, a Type 1 diabetic, menopausal and have Graves Disease which has been treated with radiation and now I'm hypothyroidic. This has made it extremely difficult for me to lose weight. Is there going to be a repeat of the show with older women? We too like to be sexy!
Hi Sharon, I too had radiation but 22 years ago after my daughter was born, I also had Graves Disease and now at 43 am giving it my best shot ever to lose the weight. (yes, I have a lot to lose too.) I have been taking medication now all this time, and the week this show started I began to take care of myself properly and following as much of Emma's recipes as I can do and exercising every day. It is actually finally working and I feel positive, fitter and more motivated to keep going.

I've been following the meal plan you set for Lisa. It's beem 11 days now and am ever so thankful for all the right things its has done for my body. I would though, love some insight into portions and flexibility of recipes. e.g. Can I interchange the complete proteins (turkey for chicken/ocean trout for salmon/beef for lamb)? Is the portion one cup of vegetables per meal and two cups of salad greens accordingly? Can the herbal tea be drunk every day and be any herbal tea?
My husband is also happily eating from this meal plan, its a wonderful thing and thank God for people like you.
Hi Vicky, That is wonderful feedback thank you! You can interchange proteins as long as you keep up the variety. Yes your portions of 1 cup for veg and 2 cup for salad is a perfect general rule. The herbal tea can be drunk as freely as you wish and any herbal tea except green as that contains caffeine. Hubby will not even realise how his Mojo is being given a boost with all the healthy cooking you are doing! Keep up the amazing work and your body will love you for it
I love love love this show, and I have tried some of the recipes Emma and they are beautiful (even my meat eating man liked the zucchini slice) but do you think you could please add nutritional values to your recipes such as fat,carb and calories. I am trying to ensure my calories in do not outweigh my calories out (exercise) and would it would be such a help. thanks for such a great concept, I think we can all relate to the participants.
Hi Gillian, I never count nutritional value as I like to work with wholefoods and eat food without counting calories or values. But I do understand that it can be useful as well. You can use online tools such as this one to work it out - http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp. Make sure you take 5 deep breaths before you eat and ensure you eat slowly too!

Thanks Emma for some great recipes.....just a couple of questions though....the banana bread is made with spelt flour....this isn't gluten free is it?? Also, the chocolate balls...how long will they keep....I believe that they're about 90 calories each so wouldn't want to eat too many to quickly. Thank you....looking forward to more yummy recipes!

Love the show, just find that the people realy dont look that over weight (even tho they feel it which I do understand) this has been the main conversation with my group of friends.. Im 45yrs and 22 - 25kg over weight and do fly in and fly out life style, I do nightshift one week home for a week then dayshift for one week and they are 12hr shifts, so energy levels are all over the place... do you have any advice
I think this show is great as it's not about fads it's about old fashioned good food and exercise. I have lost 52kg in 17 months doing this with 10kg to go - stick with it ladies and you will get to the end.

Would love to see an episode with someone who has suffered some back injuries which limits high impact exercise and who hasn't got fat from eating chocolate or other sweet stuff or having kids. Have to say I'm loving the show though, have bought a juicer and both my husband and I are trying out the different recipes.
I agree. I have a spine disease and arthritis in my spine & neck. I eat healthy, no breads, sugar, pasta, potatos or softdrink. I drink water, eat oats, seeds, steamed vegies and salads every day as well as exercise when I can. I am however 87kg and need to lose at least 20kg.
It's not just overweight people that need assistance in getting a sexy body that they feel confident in. I'm a mum of 3, size 8 and have the most unhealthy diet. I have cellulite, constantly tired, have no motivation, untoned and above all moody as anything which is frustrating. I keep saying 'I'm going to do it' but at the end of the day I just cant be bothered (it's all good in theory) and then I complain about hating my body. Just because you may see someone slim doesn't mean they are fit; I'd love to see the show have someone like me on because it would show a variety of bodies.
I'm in a similar position! Size 8, awful diet, no exercise - just because I'm thin doesn't mean I'm healthy. It would be awesome to see someone like us on the show, and to see meal and exercise plans for people who want to burn fat and tone up but don't want to lose weight.
Love the show ! You have inspired me to give it another go. So i am going to set a date to start, include my family as they can help me along on my journey. Hopefully it will have benefits for the rest of my family as well, as it wouldn't hurt them to eat healthier either.

It was like I was watching myself on there as I could relate to the bad eating habits and an avoidance of my hubby.... Love the show I have just turn 50 life is routine I have 3 teenages and live my life around them. Need to start doing things for me I'm 20kls over weight and 5 ft tall ha ha I love to gon one the show please
I am following the meal plan and started today, so am on day 1. I ate the quinoa meal for lunch as directed, 1 cup of quinoa. After eating it I looked up the calories and portion sizes that are meant to be had from quinoa and it is a lot less – apparently you should only be eating 1/2 cup uncooked quinoa, not 1 cup. 1 cup packs a whopping 620 calories – that doesn’t sound like a meal to lose weight on! Can you please advice/help now? I feel upset that I’ve just consumed that many calories.
Hi Chloe, I have a gentle approach to changing calorie loads. As Amanda was eating so many calories before her program it is necessary to reduce her calorie intake gradually instead of "cold turkey" which would have had her reaching for the convenience foods! Over all you need to look at a weekly intake so dont get too caught up on individual meals and calorie counting.
I watched it on Thursday night and I couldn't get over the fact that she was a personal trainer before she had her baby. Another thing was that her good looking husband did all the housework, cleaning and shopping, no wonder she got fat by sitting on the sofa and eating tim tams. Amanda did look good at the end and I would say she was a size 14-16. I could see why she was getting frustrated with all the cooking. I know she was required too eat fresh every day but surely a homemade vege soup every two days would of been just as good. And I don't see why she couldn't go for a walk with her baby every day as she wasn't doing anything else.

Hi Jo, Anti-inflammatory foods are ones that have compounds that, in one was or another will reduce inflammation eg bioflavonoids,antioxidants etc. I love to recommend foods such as avocado, nuts, seeds, fish, pumpkin, quinoa for this reason

The show was really good. I would like to see a progress report to see how the women are doing once the trainers and nutrionists are taken away. The recipes look user friendly as well. Interesting show but I agree with the trailer for the show being horrid!

I really enjoyed watching the show, and I would love to be able to participate on the show as I need to lose weight and every time I try, I only seem to gain weight. I feel I do all the right things (except for the exercise part), but being tired all the time doesn't help. Please, please help me!!
I thought tonights show was a blessing as I too am a 36 year old mother of two beautiful teenagers who has gained over 30kg in three years. I had treatment that ceased in 2007 and ever since I've just continually gained weight. It was a side effect after completion of the treatment we were certainly foretold but I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined that after having never weighed over 51kg other than being pregnant and then only ever reaching 71kgs of becoming 77kg. I have been toying with ways to try and lose weight but always seem to find an excuse, too busy, tastes disgusting..blah ..blah ..blah tonight I saw the results and becuase of so many similarities to myself imagined being in her shoes. Although the diet has ingredients that I would never eat it does allow for a general bases for the idea of your own diet plan. I would love to feel her happiness to share with my adoring husband and kids. I only hope that amanda continues with her success and happiness. Well done Amanda and the producers of this show!!

I'd like to say that this show looks good, but the commercial is deeply offending and disgusting. You've made a 'normal' looking beautiful woman look like a pig with how she was directed to eat, then simulate her weight loss, stick make up on her and she's ready for her husband! The waiter looks at her like she's a piece of filth. I'm embarassed for whoever pitched the idea because it's very degrading to plus size women out there who are actually proud of their bodies, eat sensibly, exercise and feel sexy! There's NO WAY I will be watching the show.
not once did any of the girls feel like that and they felt much better after that I found the nutristionist Lisa is very feminine and she is sharing her love by letting us know how to fix our selves
I think this show gives postive health ideas $ tips. I was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Have had high cholestrol for years. Thanks to sifting through the healthy sensible eating guides,exercise ideas etc,I have managed to control the diabetes,recognise the foods that raise blood sugars& maintain good levels of cholestrol. In no way do I find this show offensive.Maybe because I am not fat.The shows that I watched the paticipants were unhealthy & obese some DID eat like pigs.All wanted & were helped by this expert advice.HOW ANYONE CAN THINK kgs of pure fat hanging from their body is in anyway sexy is totally beyond me.Congratulations to the producers & team of this extremely informative show.
i have to agree i hated the commercial i switched channels every time it came on and im not overweight so i could imagine how women who are overweight felt, also what i hated is when the women calls for her husband, firstly not everyone has a husband and secondly just because she looks good doesn't mean you can treat people like that, obviously im reading into it, but i haven't seen a commercial that actually turned me off the program for a while, anyway i have watched it, and i would like to know if the women get treated for depression or any other form of counseling, especially the ones who have just had a baby earlier on in the show? as that could also be contributing to binging etc.. as i would hate them to have an underlying problem that wasnt treated, as when cameras are off they are on there own dealing with there problems again, and yoyo dieting without the proper treatment specific for them
I agree - I was put off when I saw the add - it implies that once you are slim you can throw men around and demand that your husband suddenly arrives to satisfy your every sexual desire - this is not the case and does not reflect the show properly - I enjoy the show - they are real women and I find it inspriing - the add should reflect this!!
There is nothing healthy or sexy about overweight.. I have been following the diets and exercising more since watching the show and I feel great!! I have so much more energy.. This show motivates you to make positive changes to your life no matter your weight, size or shape and if you can't see that it is your loss!! There is nothing good that comes from sitting doing nothing and eating bad food!!

I applaud this show for proving that weight loss is about whats on the inside. The outside part is just a bonus.
